Introduction to the Faculty
The Faculty of Governance was established at the University of Tehran on 15 February 2021 with an innovative approach to interdisciplinary and problem-oriented education. The faculty began its activities with the mission of "cultivating wise scientists, leaders, and rulers with an emphasis on developing technical capabilities and rationality based on ethics and social justice" in order to respond to the problems and challenges of society through an interdisciplinary approach by utilizing specialized sciences. The Faculty of Governance at the University of Tehran was designed and created with the aim of developing specialized governance studies to utilize various scientific capacities, research on the country's issues, and study and provide solutions at various national and transnational levels. Various scientific capacities are sociology, management, psychology, economics, political science or even medicine, basic science engineering, biological sciences, agriculture, and the environment, which have valuable achievements and are commonly presented to scientific circles in an original and accurate manner; While they rarely enter the policy and governance arena. In order for governance to become more scientific, it is necessary to use the capacities of various sciences; while sometimes these achievements become so diverse and specialized that it is not possible to encompass them in the governance periods and periodic dominance of various political parties.

The Necessity and Importance of the Faculty of Governance
Good and transcendent policymaking and governance is a path towards sustainable growth and equitable development, accountability and response, transparency, informed participation and public trust. At the same time, the conditions for public policy to create desired results have changed significantly. Contemporary policy challenges go far beyond the traditional limitations of the public sector and the limitations of the nation-state. They include a wide range of religious, ethnic and historical, economic and political variables that involve a greater number of stakeholders and components in the local, national, regional and international spheres. This situation requires a new brand of policymakers and leaders drawn from all sectors of society and trained to look at issues from an interdisciplinary and international perspective.

Goals of the School of Governance

In order to achieve the vision and mission of the School of Governance of the University of Tehran, it also monitors the following goals:

To cultivate rulers on the level of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

To promote scientific approaches to governance and excellence in various layers of governance of the Islamic Republic of Iran

To improve the country's governance ecosystem at the transnational, national and regional levels and in various specialized economic, social, cultural, political and educational sectors of the country.

Improving the level of rationality, knowledge, and skills of governance in the country
Identifying the country's governance issues and assisting governing institutions in solving them
Strengthening interdisciplinary language in the field of governance
Documenting the experiences and knowledge of rulers in various fields of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Critical and fair evaluation of the performance of governing institutions to improve performance and learn from successful and unsuccessful experiences.

Vision of the Faculty of Governance
The vision of the Faculty of Governance at the University of Tehran is "to lead in promoting and developing rationality, knowledge, and skills of governance to achieve scientific authority and excellence in administration and governance." The faculty operates with the aim of strengthening its scientific position in national and international arenas and cooperating with reputable scientific centers around the world.

The motto of the School of Governance is "A School for Iran" and it was designed and established with the aim of creating a country towards utopia and realizing a vision of people enjoying complete security, economic prosperity, relative well-being of citizens, conscious participation with a strong democratic approach, and proper utilization of resources and protection of the country's environment to preserve it for future generations.

Strategic Topics of the Faculty of Governance
The strategic themes of the Faculty of Governance at the University of Tehran are based on promoting education, research, and interdisciplinary interactions with the aim of strengthening the country's governance system. In the field of education, the faculty seeks to develop interdisciplinary programs and strengthen the case study approach that prepares students to face complex governance issues. Innovative and applied research is also an important part of the faculty's strategies, which are carried out with the aim of solving national and international problems and meeting policy needs. Effective interaction with industry and government institutions is another priority, which, by creating constructive connections, turns the faculty into a bridge between academic elites and decision-makers. Social impact through strengthening and developing centers affiliated with the faculty for active role-playing at the national and international levels is another key strategic theme of the Faculty of Governance.

The Faculty of Governance's Activities
By establishing a Policy and Governance Laboratory, a Governance Think Tank, a Governance Conflict Resolution Center, an intelligent monitoring system for the performance of various units of the Faculty of Governance, a Policy Research Center and Policy Dashboard, a Governance Evaluation and Development Center, a Governance Measurement Center, a Governance Support System, a Governance Open Education Center, a Futures Studies Center and Governance Observatory, and the Faculty of Governance's Dar al-Quran, the Faculty of Governance is striving to carry out its activities in parallel with education and research in a centralized and organized manner, with specific responsibilities for each faculty member in the above centers.
