Dr. Mohaddeseh Azimi holds a Ph. D. in Environmental Policy from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, China, and completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the same institution. Subsequently, she earned a second postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Tehran, supported by a grant from the National Elites Foundation. Dr. Azimi pursued a third postdoctoral fellowship at the China University of Mining and Technology and secured a two-year research grant worth $50, 000 from the Jiangsu Province Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.

A recipient of the Shahid Dr. Shahriari Award from the National Elites Foundation, designed to support the recruitment of expatriate Iranian scholars to Iranian universities, she joined the Faculty of Governance at the University of Tehran as a faculty member in the Energy and Climate Governance section. She has published numerous scientific articles in reputable international and domestic journals. Dr. Azimi's research areas include carbon governance, energy and air pollution governance, and the governance of economics, environmental inequality, and its health impacts. Her credentials also include serving as a reviewer for prestigious international journals and participation in international conferences.
