Dr Armin Towhidi

Prof. Armin Towhidi, a PhD graduate in Animal Science from Tarbiat Modares University, specializes in the governance of agriculture and food security, sustainable development strategies for agriculture and animal husbandry, and animal physiology. He has spent a period as a visiting professor at Cornell University in the United States. Dr. Towhidi joined the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Tehran in 2003 and was promoted to associate professor in 2009 and full professor in 2016. Over the past twenty years, he has held various positions including Director of Education and Graduate Studies, Director of Research and Industry Relations at the University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Secretary of the Innovation System, advisor to the Vice President for Research and Technology at the University of Tehran in the field of extension, and an international consultant for the the University of Tehran  Foundation. He has served as a consultant to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, a member of the World Feed Federation's Food Innovation Working Group, an advisor to the Deputy for Livestock Affairs at the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture, a consultant to the Agricultural and Natural Resources Engineering Organization of Tehran, an inspector of the Iranian Animal Science Association, and the secretary of the Food Security Committee of the Alborz Elite Foundation. Dr. Towhidi has published over 200 scientific research articles, authored and translated 11 books, registered two national patents, conducted numerous national and applied research projects, and received several national and international awards. Currently, he is the chair and Adjunct Professor of the Agriculture, Water, and Natural Resources Governance group at the Faculty of Governance, University of Tehran.
